Update: Ex-OIC of Narahenpita re-remanded, Crime OIC Bailed Out

Former OIC of the Narahenpita Police Station Upul Dhammika Gunathilaka who was arrested in connection with bribery charges has been remanded till December 11th.

Former OIC Gunathilaka was arrested on December 4th in connection with allegedly demanding a bribe of 2.5 million rupees to cover up a suspect for preparing forged documents.

In addition The Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya granted bail for the OIC of the Crime Division of the Narahenpita Police Station.  He was released on a 15 thousand rupees cash bail and two personal bails amounting to one million rupees each.

The OIC of the Crime Division of the Narahenpita was arrested on the 27th  November while he was receiving the said bribe.

Rs.2.5 million bribe case: OIC further remanded

Former Officer-In-Charge (OIC) of Narahenpita Police arrested for allegedly soliciting a Rs. 2.5 million bribe from a businessman in Kollupitiya is further remanded till December 11 after being produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris.
