Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, former Chairman of Securities and Exchange Commission and two others, who were arrested by the Financial Crime Investigation Division, have been further remanded until 23 December.

The suspects were remanded when they were produced before the Colombo Additional Magistrate this morning.

Nalaka Godahewa was arrested on the 7th of this month in connection with some misappropriation alleged to have been committed.

Godahewa reported to the FCID to give a statement with regard to the misappropriation of 5 million rupees carried out in August 2013 when he was chairing the Securities and Exchange Commission.
