A tenth suspect arrested over the murder of schoolgirl Sivaloganathan Vithya in Jaffna, was produced in court today and ordered to be remanded.
Vithya was abducted and was believed to have been gang-raped before she was killed. Earlier nine suspects had been arrested over the incident.
However the police arrested another suspect and produced him in court today. The tenth suspect was identified as Jayawardena Rajkumar, suspect is a 41 year-old.
The incident had sparked an outrage in Jaffna with violent protests held by students and the public.
