ITN Controversy: MR asked to broadcast 10 million worth advertisement

Hiru reporter stated that though former President Mahinda Rajapaksaa was to be present at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) today (17) he was not present.  The former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was summoned to the commission to inquire into the investigation of the incident where at the last elections the former president has not paid for his advertisement which was aired in Independent Television Network (ITN). 

However investigation of witnesses in connection to the incident is already taking place by now and the former president’s lawyers have represented. Accordingly giving witness the Independent Television Networks (ITN) internal audit officer Nuwan Alagiyawanna has stated that the former President has informed the former Chairman of Independent Television Network  (ITN) Anura Siriwardena to broadcast a 10 million worth advertisement. 

Meanwhile HIRU reporter stated that former media minister Keheliya Rambukwella and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksha also were present today at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to investigate and inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC).
