The Presidential Commission of Inquiry in to Serious Fraud and Corruption has commenced investigations in to a stock of rice imported via SATHOSA in violation of standards procedures.

Allegations have been raised over such stocks which were imported from India and Pakistan during the year 2010.

The Commission stated that few of those who have been identified to be responsible for importing rice violating standard procedures will be called before the commission within the next two weeks.

It is also reported that there are no proper records as to when the stocks were stored and when they were released to the market.

Nearly 300 containers of rice has reportedly been imported in this manner.
