A coordinating secretary of the Postal Service and Muslim Affairs Ministry Abdul Haleem Mohamed has been arrested by customs at Bandaranayake International Airport this morning.

The coordinating secretary tried to smuggle gold valued at 2 million rupees.

Customs Media Spokesman Leslie Gamini said the customs recovered four gold bars weighing 400 g that were concealed in the suspect’s rectum.

Lesli Gamini said the suspect had arrived from Singapore.
