Bhikku Federation ready to pay Minister Baduideen 1 billion rupees

The General Secretary of the National Buddhist Convention Paahiyangala Anandasagara Thera said that he is ready to pay 1 billion rupees to the Minister of Commerce and Industry  rishad BadUdin based on several conditions.

The Thera made this statement  when he was at Cinnamon Garden police station today giving a statement with regard to the complaint made by minister badudin.

A group of environmental protection activists led by the National Bhikku Convention organised a protest march on December 19th bringing pressure to the government to take solid action to stop the vandalising of forests in the island.

During the protest, Paahiyangala Anandasagara Thera said that minister Badudin is largely responsible for causing the destruction of forests.

The Thera also accused the minister for being involved in drug trafficking.

minister Badi Udin lodged a complaint with the Cinnamon Garden police on the same day requesting an immediate investigation into the allegations made against him.

He said that he would demand  of 1 billion rupees compensation from the monk.

Paahiyangala Anandasagara Thera expressed his views to the media after his statement was recorded by police today.
