The 6 members of MP Hirunika Premachandra’s security personnel, who allegedly abducted a man in broad daylight in Dematagoda, have been remanded till January 4th.

The Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that MP Premachandra was also questioned in connection to the incident.

The six suspects involved in the abduction were produced before the Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage yesterday.

The suspects who drove a Defender Jeep belonging to MP Premachandra had abducted a 34 year old resident of Gothatuwa last Monday.

The victim Amila Priyanga Amarasinghe is employed by a Textile shop in Dematagoda.

The victim disclosed that he was threatened by MP Hirunika Premachandra when he was taken before her at her Kolonnawa office.

He also said that later he was beaten at office.

The Defender Jeep which was registered in the name of Hirunika Premachandra 13 days ago bearing number 62-1859, has been used to abduct the victim.

There is strong evidence to suggest that Hirunika Premachandra is involved in the incident.

The abductee was directly taken to the MP’s Kolonnawa office.  Evidence has confirmed that she allegedly threatened him.

Police have not arrested MP Premachandra as of yet.
