“We don’t care about Vigneswaran’s policies”, says Sumanthiram
Member of the Parliament, M.A. Sumanthiram says that the Chief Minister of the Northern Province C.V. Vigneswaran is misleading the Tamil population, referring to the new split to the formation of a Tamil People’s Council.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran and the Deputy Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, Ajith P. Perera expressed their views on the proposed new constitution.
After explaining the legal process of ratifying a constitution in the parliament, the Deputy Minister continued,
“We don’t force people, we are sure that people ratify our proposals. Thus, the first step to ratify the constitution on rule of law will be taken on 09th January”.
C.V. Vigneswaran also expressed his views on the proposed constitution at a meeting held in the Public Library, Jaffna.
“When the new constitution is made, we should look into the aspects to ensure the rights of Tamil people in future. We had a meeting with the government to discuss this, and many have agreed to support us. We are looking forward for opportunities to ensure the rights of Tamil people from the new constitution”.
However, M.A. Sumanthiran of TNA says that the Chief Minister is misleading Tamil population.
“We don’t have any issue with the Chief Minister for forming a new organization. It was the TNA that brought both principals and proposals on behalf of Tamil people in the country. Thanks to those principles C.V. Vigneswaran could become the Chief Minister of the Northern Province. We don’t care about his policies, he didn’t support us to find a political solution either. What we care is that his conduct is misguiding the Tamil people who were close with the TNA”.
