Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure, Harin Fernando states that there won’t be any disturbance for high speed internet in Sri Lanka.

A rumor was spread that Sri Lanka would no more enjoy high speed broadband as the Director General of Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), decided to discontinue contracts of several members of the National Broadband Initiative which ensured high speed broadband internet to the country.

The Minister claims that the TRC is not under his powers.

Minister reassures that internet speed wouldn’t be reduced since internet and broadband facility and its speed are under the Ministry of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure.
