Drug Detection Dogs In Prisons

New plans will be implemented in order to take measures to ensure the security of the prisons. CCTV cameras will be fixed in every prison within the next year, according to the Department of Prisons sources.

Mainly CCTV cameras will be fixed in Mahara, Welikada, Dumbara and Angunukolapelassa prisons. In addition, police dogs will also be used to ensure the security in the prisons in the country. The Department of Prisons said that the new measures will help in detecting drug- smuggling rackets in the prisons.

The discussions have already been held with the Department of Police regarding the new program, reportedly.
