2 who assaulted the Lorry driver who ran over pregnant mother in Kotmale arrested

Two persons have been arrested by the police in connection to the incident where an expectant mother was runover by a lorry and the lorry was subsequently attacked by the suspects following the incident. 


The police media spokespersons office noted that the arrest was made around 5.40 this morning at the suspects residence in Wedamulla Watta.


The suspects were of the age 31 and 45 respectively and they’re to be produced before the Nawalapitiya Magistrates court for an identification parade.


The lorry driver in connection to the incident where a 34 year old expectant mother was runover in Nuwara Eliya, is held in remand custody until the 6th of January.
