The eight supporters of Hirunika Premachandra charged in connection with abduction and assault of a person in Dematagoda will be produced in court today to partiscipate in an identification parade.
Initially Hirunika Premachandra’s six supporters were arrested in connection with the incident. However two others involved in the incident turned themselves in at the Colombo CID. They were detained in remand prison until today.
A 34-year-old person employed at a Dematagoda textile shop was abducted on 21st last month by a group coming in a Defender jeep belonging to Hirunika Premachandra.
The Colombo CID questioned Hirunika Premachandra and recorded statements from her on two occasions.
However Hirunika Premachandra who is directly accused of being involved in the incident has so far not been arrested.
