Police Media Spokesperson’s Office stated that she was arrested while at her residence.
Hirunika Premachandra who was arrested over her involvement in the abduction, was produced before Hulfdorf Courts today.
She was released on two sureties of 100 thousand rupees each by the Additional Magistrate Mohammed Mihar.
Earlier the Attorney General had given out instructions to arrest Hirunika Premachandra in connection with the abduction and assault of an individual.
It is according to the order that the Colombo Crimes Investigation Division arrested her.
Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that a statement was also obtained from Hirunika Premachandra.
A 34 year old employee of a textile shop in Dematagoda was abducted by 8 supporters of Hirunika Premachandra last 21st.
The 8 supporters were arrested later.
They were released on personal bail worth 100 thousand Rupees each after been given a strict warning by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohommad Nihai.
The suspects were warned that their bail would be revoked if they had harassed the victim in future.
Although a request was made to release the defender used in the incident, courts rejected the request.
The case will be taken up again on the 12th.
