A stone anchor which was found fifteen years ago from around the sea strip of the Galle harbor has been kept at the Galle marine archeological museum for exhibition for the public view.

Our reporter stated that the anchor which was found by Galle marine archeological exploration group has been displayed after being kept inside a safe for more than ten years.

This archeologically proves that in ancient time’s trade and naval connections were present between Sri Lanka and Arabia.

The wooden part attached to this anchor has been sent to America for verification in the year 2005 and afterwards the anchor has been placed inside a wooden replica of the same.
