The Supreme Court today dismissed the fundamental rights petition filed by Supreme Court Judge Sarath Abrew.

The petition was considered by a panel of three Supreme Court Judges, Chief Justice K. Sripavan, Priyantha Jayawardana and Upali Abeyrathna.

Accordingly, the Case against Justice Abrew will be taken before Colombo High Court tomorrow.

The Attorney General has filed action against Justice Abrew for harassing and sexually abusing a woman. The Case was filed after investigations following a complaint citing that Justice Abrew abused his female domestic servant.

Justice Sarath Abrew challenged the High Court action by filing a fundamental petition with the Supreme Court saying that such action is illegal therefore requesting that the Court issue an injunction over the High Court action.
