The Convener of the Movement against Meetotamulla Garbage Mound Keerthi-rathna Perera and its organizer Attorney-at-law Nuwan Bopage were released on bail today.

The two were arrested last night for breaching Court orders and an assault incident.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohammed Nihai released the two on personal bail of one hundred thousand rupees each.

The Magistrate fixed the Case to be taken on March 28th as the defendants’ party did not agree to refer the Case to an arbitrator.

Over 70 lawyers appeared for Attorney-at-law- Bopage and Keerthirathna Perera.  The lawyers also stated that they will complain to the Human Rights Commission with regard to the arrest.

Meanwhile views were expressed at a media conference organized by the Frontline Socialist Party in Colombo today.
