The Parliament yesterday (29th) discussed a number of vital issues including appointment of an Attorney General and Prime Minister’s statement on certain journalists and media stations recently.

Leader of the Joint Opposition, MP Dinesh Gunawardena raised the issue on the delay to appoint an Attorney General, which was answered by the PM with an elaboration on constitutional requirements on the process.

PM pledged the house to accelerate the process.

PM further noted that his statement didn’t intimidate media but he practiced his right to inform what false details are being circulated by certain media. PM also mentioned the freedom that would be granted to every citizen once the Right to Information act is passed.
