Law of the country has prohibited receiving cash or material support to schools in admitting students to grade one.

However, parents of grade one students of Sangamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Galle have complained that Sangamitta Old Girls’ Association earns thousands of money during grade one admissions.

According to sources, the OGA has made it a mandate to buy a school pack priced 7000 rupees in admission to the grade one of Sangamitta BV.

However, further findings revealed that the mandatory school pack priced at 7000 rupees doesn’t exceed the value of 2000 rupees.
