All inquiries into the Embilipitiya incident where a youth died following a police raid have been handed over to the Crime Investigation Unit, the Police Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said. He refused to speak further regarding the case.

The courts ordered the arrest of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Officer in Charge (OIC) and several other officials attached to the Embilipitiya Police who were alleged to be involved in the death of a youth when they raided the house he was partying at.

However, Hiru News learns that the accused ASP was transferred to Transport Division of Police, Narahenpita.

Even though a court order was issued to arrest the persons involved, no action has been taken to date.  It is over three weeks since the incident took place.
