The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) of Pakistan conducted an operation at the port on Sunday and thwarted an attempt to smuggle heroin to Sri Lanka, Pakistan local media reports.

As per a press release, an intelligence based operation was conducted by an ANF team at the PICT port and a total of 21 kilograms of high quality heroin, worth millions of dollars in the international market, were found in a container of henna packets. The narcotics were said to have been concealed in the henna packets.

The statement further said that a case has been registered against absconders and raids were being conducted in various areas of the country to apprehend the syndicate involved in the smuggling bid.
