Five private hospitals in Sri Lanka was involved in the recently busted kidney racket, the committee appointed to look into the issue said.

A full report by the five-member committee was handed over to Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senaratne yesterday. The committee was appointed after Indian Police revealed that five local doctors were involved in an illegal kidney transplanting business.

Some of the people accused to have taken part in the racket are not doctors, the Committee Chair and Deputy General of Health Dr. Jayasundara Bandara said.
