Attorney-at-law Udul Premaratne says that witnesses and victims have come under heavy pressure as a result of the IGP not proceeding with the arrest of the suspects connected with Sumith Prasanna of Ambilipitiya.
He said so while expressing his views to journalists after lodging a complaint to the ‘National Authority for Protecting Crime Victims and Witnesses’ (NAPCVW).
Sumith Prasanna died on January 7th in a clash that erupted with the police during a party held in Maha Ela in Embilipitiya.
The CID arrested former Embilipitya ASP in connection with the incident.
However attorney-at-law Udul Premaratne said that as a result of non arrest of the other suspects, Sumith Prasanna’s wife and witnesses are being affected.
