Sri Lankan government does not oppose international parties probing into war crime investigations but the final judgement regarding the matter will be taken by the internal judicial system, Prime Minister (PM) Ranil Wickremesinghe said at the Shree Krishna Temple in Guruvayur, India yesterday.

Addressing the media at the temple he said India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan together with the United States and human rights organizations can participate in discussions made on war crimes in the country.

He added, "It was not clear how many of them (people) were killed by the army or whether the LTTE had moved the people to the war zones which led to the death of some of them. We may not have the full expertise to identify the exact factors that led to those casualties. So international participation is welcome for determining such causes."

The PM said the judicial system will judge what happens to those responsible in civilian deaths.
