While the accused tried to portray the incident as a road accident, it later turned out to be a case of honour killing.
A 27-year-old man from Delhi in India, who had gone to Gurgaon to celebrate Valentine's Day with a Facebook friend, was thrown off the fourth floor of an apartment building by two people in the upscale Sushant Lok area on Saturday night. While the accused tried to portray the incident as a road accident, it later turned out to be a case of honour killing with the victim's girlfriend breaking down before the police and narrating the sequence of events that led to the victim succumbing to his injuries in hospital. The accused have been arrested.
As per the complaint that was registered on the basis of the girl's statement, victim Ishwar alias Nishant had constantly been in touch with her for past seven months and had asked her to celebrate Valentine's Day with him in Gurgaon. She met him at the Huda City Centre metro station on Saturday before going to the multi-storey building in Sushant Lok area.
"While they were talking to each other in the flat, the girl's brother-in-law identified as Ramesh (30) and his driver Anil Kumar (25) reached there. On seeing Ishwar in the flat, the duo brutally assaulted him in a fit of rage before taking him to the balcony, from where they pushed him off," Indian media reports.
