There is no shortage of pharmaceuticals in island wide hospitals, Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine affirms.
Following instructions by Minister Rajitha Senaratne all medical supplies in state-run hospitals were checked. Through this the ministry had identified 24 medicinal products that were running short.
A statement by the ministry said 13 of these medicinal products will soon be supplied, while the ministry is also waiting a stock of 11 other pharmaceuticals.
Trade unions, recently, complained that there is a shortage of 50 varieties of pharmaceuticals across the country.
