Syrian government has given relief groups access into seven besieged areas following UN talks in Damascus.

Special envoy Staffan de Mistura said UN wants to test Syria’s commitment to allowing much needed relief into areas devastated by the civil war.

“It is clear it is the duty of the government of Syria to want to reach every Syrian person wherever they are and allow the UN to bring humanitarian aid, particularly now after so long time,” de Mistura told media in Damascus.

Humanitarian workers were not given access to enter any war-torn area in Syria to aid those who were affected by the five-year war.
