‘Hairy panic’ eats up Australian town

A tumbleweed named ‘Hairy panic’ has invaded homes in a rural town in northeast Victoria, Australia.

The exceptionally fast growing plants grow in extreme dry conditions and keeps clogging houses, sometimes reaching up to the roof.

Residents claim that they keep clearing the tumbleweed several times daily.

A resident told a foreign media station that it was ‘physically draining and mentally more draining.’
