A single wild elephant has loitered along Meegahajandura road in Hambantota causing a road closure of one hour today morning.

According to Hiru News correspondent, the elephant has stayed in the road for an hour from 7.30 am.

The residents of Meegahajandura complain that motorcycles and small vehicles are at a bigger risk as the ‘single elephant’ is used to chase them.

The villagers state that a herd of elephants are used to approach the area but only this single elephant behaves violent.
