Minister S.B. Dissanayake was subjected to blame at several media conferences held today, for his apparent name calling. S.B was accused of calling former President Mahinda Rajapaksha a Palm Civet or Kalawedda.

General Secretary of All Ceylon Samurdhi Development and agricultural Research assistants Association, and Provincial Councilor Jagath Kumara said that the statement was “disgusting”.

Joint Opposition MP Piyal Nishantha said Minister S.B. has become the person assigned to destroy Good Governance.

The remark was made while addressing a public gathering held in Kalutara today.

However, Minister S.B. Dissanaike elaborated on his references at a press conference held in Kandy.

Explaining the subject, Minister affirmed that he didn't target former president and current MP, Mahinda Rajapaksha in his reference of 'Palm Civet', but the person who called himself a 'frog' sometimes back.
