HRC report into Embilipitiya youth’s death will not be released

Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission has decided not to release the report about the investigation into the death of the Embilipitiya young who died in a police clash last month. 

Commissioner of the Sri Lanka Human rights Commission, Attorney-at-Law Saliya Pieris said that several petitions were forwarded to the Supreme Court regarding the matter. Therefore the report will not be released, he added. 

However, the commission vows to will carry out the investigations that they commenced into the incident.
