An Egyptian author was given a two year prison term for his ‘sexually explicit’ writings.
Author Ahmed Naji was found guilty of violating public modesty in his novel ‘Using Life’. His work was published in a local magazine in Egypt.
The case was taken up in court after a reader complained of palpitations, sickness and drop in blood pressure, foreign media reported.
Prosecutors have said the authors work is a ‘disease destroying social values’.
Naji was arrested and taken into prison on Saturday.
