New Zealand Prime Minister John Key will make the second official visit to Sri Lanka as the Prime Minister, on Wednesday the 24th, after the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in 2013.
The main purpose of this visit taking place during 24th to 26th February is to highlight the growing commercial and political ties between the two countries.
The New Zealand Premier will meet with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena , Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and a number of local businesspeople to promote New Zealand’s interests in the Island nation.
John Key will also lead a business delegation to focus on the significant opportunities to diversify trade between New Zealand and Sri Lanka, which stood at 324 million dolllars in 2015.
The New Zealand Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit the Temple of Tooth and Peradeniya Botanical Garden during his visit to Sri Lanka.
