A protest ignited due to caste unrest in Delhi, India has gone out of control when demonstrators destroyed a water canal.

The Munak canal is said to be the main resource of water for Delhi’s residents was thus sabotaged, cutting water supply to more than 10 million people in India’s capital.

Indian Army has taken control of the Munak canal, but schools in the area were closed due to the water issue.

Foreign media reports that the Jat community has launched the protest against caste job quotas.

Meanwhile, 16 people were killed and hundreds injured in the three day protest.
