The nearly three and half hour power failure across the country on Thursday (25) was due to negligence, electricity sector expert and consultant Dr. Tilak Siyambalapitiya said.
He said the power cut was caused by an imbalance in the electricity flow.
Meanwhile, several power failures were reported from across the country last night.
A spokesperson to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said there will be more power outages till the situation is rectified.
The CEB requested the public to manage electricity consumption as the Norochchalai Power Plant is still inactive. The board also said to minimize the usage of air conditioners, refrigerators and so-on after 6.30pm and 10.30 pm.
