The remand of the Sri Lankan snipper was extended by 10 days, Maldives police said.

He was arrested on claims that he was a part of the attempted assassination on the president of the Maldives.

Confirming the arrest of the Sri Lankan sniper for the first time, police said in a statement in November that the 27-year-old man was arrested on October 24, Haveeru News reported. He was been remanded by the Criminal Court.

Meanwhile three men who were arrested for allegedly hiring him was released for the lack of evidence, police revealed.
