The government has decided to sign the Youth Charter of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
The youth charter aims at promoting health, well-being, rights and potential of youth.
It also expects to use the knowledge of the South Asian youth in national development and to provide employment opportunities for all utilizing their skills productively.
The Cabinet of Ministers has accordingly approved the proposal made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The charter will be signed at the 36th SAARC Council of Ministers to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal on 17th of March.
