Philippines have seized a North Korean ship as the UN tightened sanctions targeting its nuclear programme.

Philippines "has to do its part to enforce the sanctions", Deputy presidential spokesman Manolo Quezon said.

Jin Teng, one of the 31 ships operated by a North Korean firm, is docked in Subic Bay and unloading palm kernels.

The UN imposed the tight sanctions after North Korea tested nuclear and ballistic missiles.
