TN Chief seeks PM Modi’s help to solve fishermen issue

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to personally intervene to secure the release their fishermen held in Sri Lanka.

On Sunday 29 TN fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy, and now a total of 64 fishermen and 77 boats are in Sri Lankan custody.

In the letter to PM Modi, Jayalalithaa brought to notice the recent arrest of the fishermen and reminded him that prior to the most recent occurrence, 35 fishermen and 73 fishing boats were still in Sri Lankan custody.
