Special committee to streamline SL Customs

President Maithripala Sirisena said he will appoint a special committee to submit recommendations to provide solutions to issues pertaining to the Sri Lanka Customs Department and to streamline its work.

Meeting with Trade Union representatives of the Sri Lanka Customs Department, the President promised to provide possible solutions to issues.

The Trade Union representatives told the President regarding their difficulties. The President gave instructions to the officials to submit a report in this regard.

He further said that the aim of the Government is to increase its capacity as a profit making government institution while providing solutions.
