Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued directives to look into the people’s day to day concerns when obtaining public opinion on forming a new Constitution.
The Committee appointed to seek public opinion on the Constitution met with the Premier last evening.
The Committee educated the Prime Minister on its findings and developments thus far.
Premier Wickremesinghe informed the Committee that they have till April to complete the report in this regard.
He said another aspect that should be included during the formation of the new Constitution is the public service delivery.
The Prime Minister also said if the need arises the committee should even head to rural areas to consult the public on such matters.
