Large crowds are gathering to pay their last respects to late Asgiri Chapter Chief Prelate Most Venerable Galagama Sri Aththadassi Thera. 

The remains of the late Nayaka Thera are at the Upali Hall at the Asgiri temple for public viewing.

In addition to leading political figures, foreign diplomats have also been arriving to pay their last respects.

Meanwhile, a special traffic plan will also be in place in Kandy in view of the funeral of the Maha Nayaka Thera.

All liquor shops, meat stalls and animal slaughter houses island-wide will also be closed tomorrow.
