People in the South must have a better understanding about national reconciliation than those in the North, President Maithripala Sirisena said yesterday.
The president was visiting Thelippalei and Kopay in Jaffna, to hand over 701 acres of land to their original owners who lost the property during the war.
Addressing the gathering at the event the president added that several extremist groups are attacking the government with accuses and added that representatives of reconciliation must visit people in the South to educate them.
