The European Union (EU) has requested Sri Lanka to work cordially with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

EU said it wishes to see greater cooperation by Sri Lanka with the UN, while it also commended the relationship has developed with the UN Human Rights Commissioner Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein’s Office.

The EU is also obtaining views from the UN Human Rights Commissioner regarding the best ways it could assist Sri Lanka as it works towards achieving reconciliation in its post-war era.
