Despite extreme heat, creams should not be applied on infants unnecessarily

Ruhunu Medical Faculty’s Pediatric Specialist Professor Sujeewa Amarasena says that kids and infants may develop skin diseases stemming from a virus due to the prevailing dry weather.

Elaborating further to our news team, the Professor said that the condition may cause children to develop hives on the skin or small wounds in the mouth, in addition to showing signs of high fever.

However, Ruhunu Medical Faculty’s Pediatric Specialist Professor Sujeewa Amarasena stressed that it is not advisable to apply creams and other balms on such skin allergies caused by the prevailing heat.
