Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Saychenko was handed down 22 years in jail for directly artillery fire which killed two Russian journalists in eastern Ukraine in 2014.

She, however, denied all charges made against her.

When the sentences was read Nadiya has burst into a folk-like protest song in the courtroom.

In a statement Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said he was ready to exchange Nadiya for two Russian soldiers detained in Ukraine.
