The Meteorology Department states the prevailing dry weather will come to an end in 3 days

Meteorologist on duty S. Premalal stated that continuous rainfall is expected in most parts of the island throughout the month of April.

However reservoir water levels have drastically reduced due to the prevailing heat.

It has been reported that the water level at Hydro power reservoirs have been reduced by 40% making it challenging to generate necessary electricity due to the demand of drinking water and water required for irrigation purposes.
