Investigators have unlocked the dead San Bernardino gunman’s iPhone without Apple’s help, foreign media reports.

This development has ended a court case, where Apple restricted a court order issued last month requiring the firm to write new software to allow officials to access the gunman, Rizwan Farook’s phone, after he and his wife killed 14 people in San Bernardino in December.

FBI officials said yesterday that they have accessed the phone independently and asked for the order to be withdrawn.
