Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says a new education system will be introduced in the near future.
Speaking at an event held in Colombo last evening, Premier Wickremesinghe said the present government hopes to develop education costs through the growth of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
He said the country’s development relies on the education system in the island.
The Prime Minister said the public was promised of a 6 per cent allocation for education from the Gross Domestic product when President Maithripala Sirisena was elected as the new President.
Accordingly, he said the economy should be further developed in order to keep to the government’s promise.
