The Workers of Kahatagaha Graphite Mine Protest Demanding their New Year Bonus.

Around 75 workers have launched a protest inside the Kahatagaha graphite mine, demanding the usual New Year bonus which is paid each year in April.

The workers say that the Rs 15,000 bonus is to be scrapped this year.

There are around 100 workers in the mine, located in Kurunegala District. It is owned by the Kahatagaha Graphite Lanka Ltd.
